Big brother moved into Redding to help us be safe.
There are some interesting remarks after the redding.com article.
Nobody mentioned that there are devices that unlawful people use to hide their plates from the cameras. Please don't use this device. Or the one that attaches to your car that makes speed checkers read the number you want them to read. Bad karma, bad, bad.

Actually on the Mythbusters show they tested all those devices and did not find one that actually worked. What bothers me is I read somewhere that the company that installs the devices actually make all the money, they then pay a small portion to the city. They do extensive testing to find a location that will generate the most money for them, so basically it's a money making venture and not really a crime prevention measure which our Police Dept. should be focusing on.
And it is bad enough that people are already leary about the bridge traffic to come down Cypress and Bechelli, now we have to deal with that stupid camera, and yes it is stupid! Red light runners are stupid! Stupid cost us people money!

That intersection is going to be a cash cow. I can't count how many times I entered on a green only to either turn onto Bechelli, or on to the cypress/i5 north lane, only to be stuck in the intersection when it turns red.
The worst were the people turning into or out of that coffee place on the corner in the mornings.

Maybe they should move the entrance to the freeway.
