Fishing on Shasta Lake

OK OK, not that I will admit too face to face, but I just got back from the lake and I didn't catch one dam fish! Last weekend same problem, I like to use live bait, I have tried crickets, minnows, frogs, lizards and anything else that moves, nada! My fish finder only flashed on a one or two fish, I am also fishing with some buddies that are life long Shasta fishermen, and they say it's wierd, so what's the consensus? Is anyone catching fish on the lake or what? Didn't it just turn over? Waters about 67º, at the dock no one seems to be doing any good. IS ANYONE CATCHING FISH? If so feel me in, what are you using?

Maybe they went south for the winter.

Seriously....I have heard the same from others.  It probably has something to do with the degradation of the environment by right -wingers  wink

Re: Fishing on Shasta Lake

I visited my friend over at Jones Valley yesterday,,, went down to the lake and watched a 14 year old kid catch a nice 24 inch Rainbow.  Yea, kids and fishing.   I remember the times I caught sunfish and thought it was great.  But a 24 inch Rainbow... WOW.. that is a monster.   I could have told storys for weeks on that catch to my buddies.  Bet he does the samething.  He said he was going to get his picture taken at the bait shop.   That will be an all summer long brag.  Bet his dad will be popping some buttons too... What a great way to enjoy summer.. father, mother, son, and daugter down at the lake fishing, sunbathing, swimmng, and making new friends... you ask .. "How is the fishing at the lake?"   ... GREAT!
