Hermit crabs...

Disgusting!!! Have you smelled those things! People actually go down to the mall and buy those things! Ooh they make great pets....whats wrong with a dog? I actually sold a few of those myself....(just helping out a pal) and can't believe people actually pay the money they do for those things....there like the roaches of ocean life....

Re: Hermit crabs...

I resemble that remark. lol Actually, I was just a dirty old man till these guys corrupted me. Yeah, that's it! lol

Hermit crabs are one of the few pets I've never had, but a lot of people seem to like 'em. BTW, did Arnie ever legalize ferrets in CA? I *love* those crazy animals. And cats. And dogs. Rabbits, the possum who thinks he's a pet, goats, horses...

Re: Hermit crabs...

I don't know about ferrets (arrrrrr ferret leggins.....!!!)
but I know you can't have an African Pigmy Hedgehog.... My daughter wants one, and so I hear the pain and anguish about the injustice almost daily.

Re: Hermit crabs...

I think they banned hedgehogs right after 'Welcome back Kotter' went off the air, oh wait, what did they call those dudes?

Re: Hermit crabs...

Ahhh. My grandmother loves hedgehogs. And I love that woman.

78 years old, took up shooting guns. Is now a legend down at the shooting range. Still has a soft spot for hedgehogs and mass quantities of cats.

Re: Hermit crabs...

I have a therapist for my dog.....no kidding. She has a separation anxiety disorder. Some days I can look at my situation and laugh, other days I wanna hang myself with the nearest rope. J/k. She is worth the frustration.

Re: Hermit crabs...

But I gotta tell u this dog is awesome, and worth it. I madeit all worse by the life I've provided for her. My life would b a lot easier right now if she was'nt in it, but truthfully if I gave her away she would die. She dosent eat when I'm at work....Everyone has had a time in their life when they felt they were barely hangin on, and  everyone has had something that helped them get thru such times. As cheesy as it sounds that dog has been the only thing I can rely on, the only thing that has "been there for me", when I got here I made a commitment that I would'nt give her up if things got tuff, people have turned their backs on me, broke their promises, I won't do that. That sounds very dramatic, but if you new my life then you would understand why it is important for me to see this thru and try everything I need too.....

Re: Hermit crabs...

No, no I did'nt take offense. It takes a lot to piss me off....I did'nt mean to come across as bitchy. JUst when I make a commitment...its a commitment. What kinda person would I be if I could just throw away something I loved like it did'nt matter...I believe in giving my all in everything....my new policy (new years resolution) is to not hold back in anything. If I'm gonna do it, if I'm gonna say it then by all means I'm going to contribute everything I have in me. Life and all things in it are only worth it to me if I give it my best, live every moment to the very fullest.....it also helps when I fail, when I make mistakes...because I can say I tried, and that I put it all out their. Failures arent quite failures tho, stepping stones that get u thru and to where ur going, failures in life r just like throwing a rock in a pond, the ripples go out and effect the rest of the water, I think people should be thankful for the hard times in their lives, u can only go up from down, and good things follow the bad. So I know that no matter how much I struggle right now, no matter how many times things get fucked up....all the effort I put in will pay off.

Know what I mean...lol

Re: Hermit crabs...

hey all, when was the last time you had to clean up after a hermit crab made a mess on the floor and "you" steped in it at zero dark thirty in the morn.?  :x
and yes they are scavengers, so, so are catfish and i'll bet you "eat" them
i like them, when they do bark, your not up all night listening to them tongue
their food dosn't come in big bags you can't carry in the store lol
the vet dosn't keep calling trying to get you to bring them in for their rabies shot
when you go on vacation you can; 1- take them with; 2- leave them with a friend; 3- throw in an old piece of meat and come home to a really happy pet smile

yes i do think i like them.
