Computer is turned on... monitor is turned on... but have no picture. I have tried another monitor that I know works... but still no picture. Any ideas?
In case it means anything, I did notice that the hard drive light is constantly on without any flicker.

Your motherboard is dead.

Let me guess, emachine, Gateway or possibly an older Dell. Sorry but you have to replace the motherboard unless you possibly have an add-on video card, but I suspect not, it is almost always the motherboard.

Not just an Emachine... an Emachine with a friggin Bestec 250w power supply. Ultimately figured this one out for myself - with a little help from Google.
By the way niner, below is something I found online that I think you might remember.
"Well color me stupid! HEHE, I have two here as well T2893 and T2792 both have bad MB's but the PS's test OK, sure...I replaced the MB in the T2792 and it came back the next day dead, I put in another MB and it lasted a whole 14 days!! Ok, I learned my lesson, the next eMachine goes straight into the dumpster! So apparently the PS even though test OK is most likely knocking out the MB's." By Ninershark @ Geeks.com forum.
To be completely honest, this little T4510 has hummed along without any trouble at all for six years. I just wish someone would have notified me about the problem with this particular power supply. At very least, I wish it would have fried the day after I saved all my stuff on disk.
Thanks for the reply.

LOL! I got 5 of those eMachines last week, every one had a bad motherboard and I forgot my own common sense and decided to fix one, new motherboard, booted it up and it lasted a whole 5 minutes before it went dead, I no longer work on eMachines! Except software issues, and the first thing I do is to back up all their data!
You can still take out the hard drive and save all your data, when you get a new computer just install all your old stuff back on, not hard at all.
