Lately the price of gas has made people drive less. Since the city and county get tax money on gallons sold, not price, they have been loosing out on revenue.

When one drives around 55 miles per hour they have about the optimum speed for using less fuel. Going faster or slower uses more fuel to go the same distance.

The city is making us use more fuel by decreasing the speed limits through town, thus increasing the gallons used to drive.
